It’s a very strange day today. I am overflowing and ripe with energy, just rippling with a force that I can barely disguise.

By the way, the ‘Flamenco Dancer’ is by Fabian Perez.
If my purpose is to inculcate the value of joy, then my pursuit of personal joy is through sensuality. The finding of it everywhere. Flamenco. Yes. An obvious choice but not for the reasons one would think. Flamenco, the dance, the physical expression, the release, it’s passion and pain and pleasure.
...it’s the capturing of a moment of that passion and pain and pleasure…the dichotomy of soft and hard…

Do not mistake sensuality for a sexually derived feeling. Sensuality can be found in a pure white round sugar bowl, filled with coarse white and brown sugar cubes…the velvet timbre of a hard word…the drip of a a single rain drop, rolling off a leaf as thunder rumbles in the background…
Sensuality can be found in the blowing of leaves against a tree trunk…in the curve of a car bonnet, engine revving, heat radiating…in the deliberate vicious stroke of an artist’s brush…

Fabian Perez, the sensuality of his art…stuns me…I forget to breathe. I have some of his art on my wall…I just…ahhh… I need to feel this powerful every day. Life should be lived this powerfully every day.

His Flamenco Dancer is how I feel today. Just as well I have 2 classes this week. I want this energy to burn.

A conversation was had about optimism. What I see as unwavering faith in the good outcome of all opportunities, that indeed all circumstances are opportunities and that there is no such thing as defeat only a pause in forward momentum…was seen by the other as naivete and childish idealism.

More wit and wisdom from Winston…and no, I’m not just ‘copy and paste’ -ing!
